Marcia, Marcia, Marcia!

So my sister has been getting lots of hits on her blog and people actually commenting. Now hits are one thing, but comments are even better! I think I am suffering from a case of 'Marcia, Marcia, Marcia's'!
Ok, so I don't really know what the big deal about this WFMW but I have noticed it raises quite a stir. So it's my turn, let the readers and comments pour in... I'll be waiting.

BTW dad, you can post without an account here. Switch the 'choose an identity' to AOL and then all you need is a nickname. Thanks for reading...

I feel your pain! Even on the days I get my most visitors (very random still), I get few to no comments. I don't know what it is. I just try to put it out of my mind and keep writing what's on my heart and if the comments come, then great, if not, I still have something to look back on that meant something to me at the time I wrote it. Have a great day!

Amen sister. My little "grandma-flavored" blog suffers from "chronic invisibility"... what that does is makes me more open, I think. If I thought peeps were really reading it - I might hold back more!

Jeni

I don't get much traffic, either - mostly my real-life friends, and only three of them regularly comment! But I enjoy the writing itself, so that's good.

I've heard people say that if you read lots of blogs and leave lots of comments, it will increase traffic on your own blog, so you might try that.

Janelle

I'm guilty of browsing without commenting on lots of blogs, but when you comment on others, they will check you out and so will readers of the comments of that blog. I'm guessing you'll look at my blog to see who I am :-) Also, if you want more traffic partipate in carnivals like WFMW to get people to try out your site. They may come back if they like what they see. Most of all, just have fun with it!

Momala

I'm in the same boat. I tend to get the most traffic when I participate in a carnival, but I still don't get a lot of comments. Maybe it takes a while to build up a following. I am trying to comment more on other blogs, hoping they will (please please please) come on over to my blog. But, who knows, I was a lurker for about 2 years before I started my own blog. Now I try to comment as much as I can, because I know how excited I get when I get a comment. :)

Hey, Ok click on customize and then template. That will allow you to edit your header. Can you tell I am not technical? I had to play with the picture, remove it, crop it, and then load it again. Good luck with it. Have a great day. Amanda

Liz, I always thought it was "Marsha, Marsha, Marsha" but you're right. I've been thinking it wrong in my head all these years. Thanks for straightening me out. Love Mom

Thanks Mom... And I knew I could count on YOU to help me see the areas in my life that need improving. I'll thank dad for my wonderful spelling. Everyone else has been polite and allowed me to think highly of myself, spelling bee champion or not, I was enjoying my moment in the spotlight.

Marcia here. Leaving you some blog love. Glad to be an inspiration.

Love ya.

I know how you feel, because I don't get tons of hits on my blog, either. But my comments have been growing a little, and I think the main reason is that I frequent other people's blogs. Find a few you like and become a regular visitor..and they will surely come back and visit you!

Mer

Hey - it worked for me... I found you on WFMW and clicked through. :0) And because I LOVE to get comments, I leave them all over the place. Like Janelle says - when you comment on others' blogs, they often visit your blog and comment back.

So set up a Reader and begin frequently commenting on the blogs you like. Also, I think you are on the right track with participating in a blog event.

But if the readers are family or friends that don't blog, they may not know what a big deal it is to get a comment - so I find that my most frequent comment-ers are bloggers themselves.
