I've had an itch to re-purpose some of my clothes into clothes for Connor.Last weekend I did followed the suggestions found here and got to work!
The skirt on the left is made from a cream shirt just like the one on the right...then I cut up that one too! So great and SEW simple!!

Paint Time!

I finally decided it was time to decorate for the season. Which also means, time to craft!
I started this morning with making Connor an apron to wear when she paints. It was sew simple and took me less than an hour (and I had all the supplies!)
(did you notice her shoes are on the wrong feet!)
I figured; the more color, the more inspiring! I did not use a patter, so I eye balled the size as I cut the fabric. Next time I will cut the top piece more narrow so it doesn't gap below her chin.

And even added a row of pockets complete with a 'C'. I used bias tape on the sides so the neck strap runs all the way around...which means this apron will fit for a while!

Then she set Elmo down and told me to take a picture of his back too!
We had fun testing it out while painting our own decorations!

Melissa's Baby Shower and To Do list

A while back, Melissa asked me to make curtains for Julia's room. So Fun...we all know I love projects! Too bad I didn't take any pictures of them after being hung...but trust me, they were cute! Here are the throw pillows I made with left over pieces. Cute fabric, isn't it!The back is pink, the same fabric as the accents seen here. While we were at Joanns (squeel!), Melissa mentioned wanting a frilly apron. So I insisted on making her one! It was my first attempt and I used no pattern, but I was pleased. Now to get Mel to send me a picture of her modeling it.

(*see how my mom embroidered her initials on the pocket, cute touch!)Baby shower gifts are my fav! Especially when I can make them.

First off, I read Melissa's mind and made Julia a "Big Sister" shirt. I was very pleased with the outcome and even more pleased with Julia's new 'cheese' pose...she squints and says cheese but I missed the smiling part. So I don't have any pictures from the actual shower or the gift I made for her. But I found the exact same thing on someone's etsy site. It is a nursing cover...so wish they had these when I had Connor. Such a great idea and super eas to make!

Andres picked out the fabric and I was very pleased..an Alexander Henry print. So Cute and I think it suits Mel nicely. Good job MR!

I also made one for Michelle but also did not take a picture.

It was a good weekend full of crafting and visiting...but laking on sleep.

I have been saying a lot lately that "I am my mother's daughter".
Here is what my mother did today. at work.
for no reason.

Except for this pair.

Connor was upset that she couldn't get her toes in the others so Grandma made a bigger version.

A Busy Night

Last night was a productive night for me!
I made these 2 dresses...which I found out this morning are too small for Connor. But still really cute!

Then I made a couple headbands from felt flowers and bra strap material my mom picked up
During the 'photo shoot' of Connor this morning, modeling the headband...i thought it would be a cute prop to let her play with the water hose. Until she pointed it in my direction and pulled back on the trigger.
I had to throw in a wardrobe change for myself and my soaked skirt.
But before I went to bed last night I made these for work. Carrot Cake Cupcakes! yummy!
Like I said, it was a good night!

But it's SEW easy

I made these 2 pinafores for Connor this weekend (as well as 2 more for a friend) just because they are so cute and easy!

The first are sparkly fairies with the matching sparkly flowers. While this one is a sparkly princess print with the purple zebra! 'Sew Cute'!!

Connor's Booty Cushion

Look what i 'whipped' up last night!A very cute cushion for Connor's toy box/bench...even though i don't think there are any toys inside...i actually wonder what is inside...hmmm

I will admit I was dreading this project, until i got started. It was 'sew' easy and everything fit on the first try(which is also a first)! I used the zebra print which are the tabs on her curtains, and then leftover green and floral print for the sides. I still have some art projects to complete for the walls and then I'll give a tour again!

Thanks for the padding sis, it is the perfect size!

Sew Easy!

I have been saying for months I wanted to make a penifore dress for Connor...I found this cute girly skull fabric at Joanns (saw it at Wal Mart too!) and HAD to have it. Tell me this is not WAY CUTE!
I ran out of black rickrack and will have to buy more tonight so finish her up...
My mom had this black and white fabric 'lying around' ...it's perfect!!

The skull fabric even has a silvery sparkle to it too!
