More Of Connor being Green!

I've been playing with my camera lately, checking out all my settings.
This is my color swatch setting. You point it at a color of your choosing, then push ok, then point it at your target and it picks up that color. I thought it would be cool to pick up Connor's green shirt with matching green shoes. So much for the terrible 2's...more like the Monkey 2's!! This kid climbs on everything!! This was the sunset tuesday night. My camera has a sunset setting also.
Very Pretty!

To Block or Not To Block

We have wireless internet in our home.
It is great.
We can use the laptop anywhere we want, even while watching tv.
(I'm a multi tasker, remember?)
However, our wireless does not require a password to access it.
I never thought anything of it.
I feel I already have enough passwords to remember, why add another.
Behind our house is a park.
In that park is a couple picnic tables.
Everynight, those picnic tables have a guy or two sitting at it, on their laptops.
It wasn't till a couple weeks ago that the Mr pointed out that those were his friends from down the street.
Apparently they have been using our wireless connection and I never realized it.
My question-do I block it?
Or is it not a big deal?
I'm a simple person and really don't mind, but am I being too nice?
Should I ask if I can get them a Grande Non-Fat Mocha Latte with no whip?
What's your opinion?

A Rushed Weekend

First off-this was one weekend that wore me out! I didn't do one bit of sewing, crafting or relaxing! Not ONE BIT.
It started with:
  • Connor was up all night Friday with a fever which made dad stressed out. We kept it somewhat under control with tylenol, but it really slowed us down.
  • I got called into work Saturday afternoon to meet a customer, who was an hour and a half late meeting me.
  • Which made us late to Hootieville for our BBQ and swim party.
  • At the end of the night, I realized I never took my camera out of my purse to take any pictures! But Connor wore her rw&b last weekend also, so here is a quick peek at her cute dress! (that I did NOT make! Thanks for covering my butt Ralph Lauren...He's so dependable.)Sunday proved to be just as rushed with this little project I jumped into, cold turkey! Oh but it turned out so cute and tasty! This was the cake my co-worker, Cristal, requested for her baby shower. It took me about 2 hours to decorate, including the cute cupcakes below. I didn't realize it would take me THAT long, which meant I was rushing at the end. Just to load everything into the car-and the car NOT START! Ahhh! So my sister came to the rescue and picked us up!We were about an hour late the the shower, which was not too big deal since it was a hispanic shower-meaning all the guests were even later than me. (*please note, I am married to a hispanic man meaning I'm allowed to comment on the fact that there is a difference between real time and 'mexican time'! I think my mom and I like 'mexican time' more!) My mom took all the credit for the cake because "she taught me everything i know" and "i get my talent from her".

Thanks mom! This is what Connor did for the first half of the shower. I was jealous! (her legs look so long in the picture...she is getting big!) Since my car wouldn't start, Connor and I went home with Grandma. She found her old walker and took it upon herself to climb in. She played in this thing for about 30 minutes, her favorite was the mirror, go figure! It was too funny and really showed me how big she is!

All in all it was a good weekend and I had lots of fun, but I look forward to an uneventful weekend in 5 days!

Cravings

You know how you get those forwards where you fill out your favorites? Or on facebook, where you are asked to list your favorite movies, foods, restaurants, artists...well I struggle with my favorite. a lot. but I realized, it's not till I'm driving in the car, or sitting on the toilet (sorry for the honesty) or laying in bed, that I realize what some of my favorites are.
Like food. I know i love ice cream. i couldn't tell you which is my favorite though. that changes a lot. but i realized this weekend that i love cereal. i craved it while i was pregnant. but i am still craving it. i love it. and my cereal of the month.
this one.

however I, unlike Connor, will eat all of it and not just the marshmellowy charm things. but what may be stranger than the fact that i love cereal, is probably the fact that i decided to create a post about it to share with all of you.

what are you favorites?

Who makes the rules around here?

I always wondered what the deal was with daylight savings time and who decided they got to change time? Well, i finally looked into it and it has been around since World War I...guess I won't be fighting this decision anytime soon.

"Daylight Saving Time has been used in the U.S. and in many European countries since World War I. At that time, in an effort to conserve fuel needed to produce electric power, Germany and Austria were the first to take on the change. The plan was not formally adopted in the U.S. until 1918. 'An Act to preserve daylight and provide standard time for the United States' was enacted on March 19, 1918."

Good to know...

A Nice Meal

You know you're at a classy restaurant when they put a basket of tampons in the women's restroom and trust you won't empty it into your purse. Now that's a nice joint! And yes, I only took one. I swear!

What the?

So I was watching the Golden Globes last night and thought most people looked so nice!

Then Sting came out to present... um? Not too sure what he's been up to, but whatever it is, his wife seems to have joined him. Please note, there is a person with longer hair (?) standing behind her but I'm having trouble telling which parts are her and which are his/hers...either way it's not helping their case.

Time to Celebrate!

I got my laptop back last night and it's very exciting! Our dearest daughter decided she wanted to view the screen one day and pulled it a bit too hard. After 3 weeks at HP, it's repaired and good as new...all covered under the warranty. Thanks for taking it my mr., I'm glad to have it back.

I've got Gas

Holy Moly! I just FILLED my gas tank for $30.10!!!
Just thought I would share my excitement.

Post Theft

So I just had to post this picture of Hannah even though I know Heidi will too!She is wearing the dress I wore to my Aunt Marti's wedding in 1985! Yes...I double checked my year entry and I meant to write '85...23 years ago! My mom made me this dress (and Heidi had a matching one) when we were flower girls. Isn't that a hoot. She is actually wearing it to a dance at 'the club' tonight with her Grandpa Ben. That's my niece... not afraid to bring back the '80's!

My Christmas List

My brother in law made me a cup of coffee with his cool coffee maker and I was sold!

I loved it so much, I added it to my Christmas list. It makes single serve cups of coffee and it's SO easy. The funny thing is...after he showed it to me I was reading the paper this weekend and found it on sale at 3 different stores. Then I went to Macy's and saw it on sale there. THEN, I was reading a blog post and someone has a link to a giveaway! Wish me luck...

Check out this giveaway!

must....have....hot.....water..... ....... .......

So we have been out of a dependable and working hot water heater for over a week and it sucks! Andres has been able to go into the garage and get it to turn on for a limited period of time, long enough to run a quick bath for Connor and have enough WARM water left for me. What a biotch this is! I hate not having HOT water to wash dishes, wash loads of white clothes, and shave without goose bumps...my legs are hating me lately. And, while Andres is quick to offer his hot water working magic...it's still a pain.

on that note, please don't be frightened if we ask to use your restroom...I promise to clean up after myself and bring my own towels.

Scratching the Itch

I did it.

last night I:
cleaned my bathroom
cleaned the loft
washed Connor's chair cover
loaded and started the dishwasher
swept the kitchen
put Connor's laundry away (not my favorite!)
dusted the living room
vacuumed
painted more K's (I'm getting closer Michelle!)
finishes my couch cover sewing project for Tina
cleaned up my sewing mess
then went to bed...
